请教一下，substrate trapping mutant是什么意思啊？

substrate trapping mutant通常是指保留特异的底物结合能力而丢失催化底物能力的突变体。就是说STM可以结合底物但不能处理底物，可以用来发现如某些磷酸酶的底物。

Substrate-trapping mutants (STMs) are phosphatases mutated to retain specific binding activity but lack catalytic activity. In other words, STMs bind to phosphorylated substrates, but cannot cleave the phosphate group, thus leaving the substrate permanently bound to the STM. In one application, STMs can be used to pull out native phosphatase substrates in order to determine how substrate profiles change upon specific cell treatments.
