Affinity Measurements by Competition ELISA

Antibodies and their fragments are widely used tools for research, diagnostics and therapy. The strength of the interaction between an antibody molecule and the recognized antigen is conveniently characterized by the affinity constant. Among the available approaches to determine antibody affinity, measurement by competition ELISA is the only general technique that can be performed without any special equipment. When correct experimental conditions are used, the value obtained represents the true affinity constant in solution.
