MIicroGenie: Shotgun DNA Sequencing

The shotgun merge section of the MicroGenie program is used to combine a number of overlapping DNA sequences into a single, larger, contiguous sequence (contig). This is particularly useful for constructing the continuous sequence of a cDNA clone from its respective restriction fragments or for assembling the data generated by sequencing the exonuclease digestion subclones (deletion cloning) (1 ) of a cDNA clone.
