预定意义 prospective significance， pros－ pective value 与预定能力都是杜里舒（ H． Driesch 1898）首创的实验胚胎学的基础概念。胚胎的一个区域只能实现其所有可能的发育预定能中的某一个，这个现实的预定能力称为预定意义。现在此词的涵义比上述的更为狭义，而用于正常发生中一定实现的发生意义。几乎与“预定命运”同义。
