Isotope Derivative Assays for Psychotropic Drugs

互联网

609
Measurement of psychotropic drugs has become an integral part of the evaluation of new agents and, for older drugs, is often a routine part of clinical practise. Much of the interest in the measurement of psychotropic drugs can be traced to the notion that plasma concentrations may in some way reflect concentrations at vital central receptor sites and so be related to clinical efficacy (Brodie, 1967). Furthermore, an understanding of the pharmacokinetics of drugs IS neceβary for rational prescribing practices, with an obvious relationship to drug measurement. In some clinical situations, e.g., in cases of suspected noncompliance or drug toxicity, measurement of the plasma drug concentration is useful for management.
