内眼角皮肤的皱褶。在人的双眼睑，上眼睑下缘的上方有与下缘平行的不同高度的一条皱褶〔也称覆盖褶（德Deckfalte）〕，常常从其内侧端或近于内侧端的皮肤单独地出现皱褶，一方覆盖原来的内眼角，另方向鼻部皮肤垂降。根据褶的发育程度，内眼角泪丘（ caruncula lacrimalis）的一部或全部可被遮盖。这种特殊的褶也可称为蒙古襞。白色人种少见，类蒙古系人种非常多见，故有此名。中国南方人 100％都有，马来西亚人有 60— 80％，爪哇人有 52％，日本人近似中国南方人。具有蒙古襞的眼睑，内部有脂肪层，因此，可认为是适应寒冷的标志。
