作为核内物质输出细胞核的信号，帮助核内的某些分子迅速通过核孔进入细胞质。另外, 有些蛋白并非是核内常驻“人口”, 通常要往返于核质和胞质之间, 这些穿梭蛋白既有NLS又有NES。
