　　也称光合色素（ photosynthetic pigment），存在于光合生物（高等绿色植物、各种藻类、光合细菌）的细胞中，是能吸收光作为光合合成能源的色素之总称。光合色素是按光合生物的系统、亲缘关系为特征而分布的。高等绿色植物或藻类的光合色素是叶绿素 a，而几乎所有光合细菌的光合色素几乎都是细菌叶绿素 a。其他的叶绿素有叶绿素 b、叶绿素 c（脱植基叶绿素 c）、叶绿素 d、细菌叶绿素 b、细菌叶绿素 c、细菌叶绿素 d等。叶绿素以外的同化色素有类胡萝卜素、藻胆色素。
