厌氧代谢 anaerobic metabolism 亦称无氧代谢。是属于不消耗分子态氧的能量代谢。其代表性的为糖的无氧酵解、酒精发酵、乳酸发酵、丁酸发酵、丁醇发酵、丙酮 -丁醇发酵、甲烷发酵及其它通常通称为发酵的过程。此时，从碳水化合物分解过程中间产生的高能磷酸化物形成 ATP，但其效率远比好氧代谢差。
