Methods in Reepithelialization: A Porcine Model of Partial-Thickness Wounds

互联网

255
The healing of skin wounds progresses through sequential and overlapping phases of infl ammation, repair, and remodeling ( Fig. 1A ). Each phase of healing is directed by the complex coordination and interaction of several cell types contained within the wound, including inflammatory cells such as neutrophils, macrophages, lymphocytes, and platelets. Native skin cells such as fibroblasts, keratinocytes, and vascular endothelial cells are also intricately involved in these processes. Although these processes are well described at the macroscopic cell biology level, until recently they were poorly understood at the molecular level.
